Lack of seeds a challenge for smallholder farmersLimited knowledge, lack of information, high costs of seeds and lack of seed laws have been identified as some of the issues affecting the access to good quality seeds by smallholder farmers. These issues came up at a recent two-day Access to Seeds Index workshop held by the Southern African Confederation of Farmers Union (SACAU) and Access to Seeds Foundation (ATSF) in Johannesburg.
