“Growing role of the private sector in agricultural research and development”The Access to Seeds Index was used as a reference in this scientific article published by Elsevier in Global Food Security. “Surveys by ASTI and Assess to Seeds (2016) have identified a number of firms doing agricultural research in Africa. However, agricultural research spending by indigenous African companies appears to be quite small, with most spending far less than $1 million annually on R&D.”
