In the latest edition of the magazine European Seed (Vol. 2, Issue 2) the Access to Seeds Index is highlighted in the article ‘Company Seeds For Smallholder Farmers’ Needs’ written by Marcel Bruins. In this article Ido Verhagen, the executive director of the Access to Seeds Index, looks ahead to the first Index: “The response rate is high. Based on first evaluation of the incoming data, we are confident that the index will show what and where the sector is already doing well and how individual companies are leveraging their strengths. With the findings of this index, we will be able to identify inspiring examples of innovative ways by which companies are supporting smallholder farmer productivity.”
Integration with the World Benchmarking Alliance
The Access to Seeds Index is now part of the World Benchmarking Alliance. All indexes up to 2020 can be found here. New indexes and methodologies are published on the website of the WBA.
