The Access to Seeds Index featured in the first Report on the Sustainable Development Goals by the government of the Netherlands which provides a framework for accountability on the implementation of the SDG’s by the Netherlands. In the section on how the Netherlands contributes to SDG#2 (Zero Hunger), also the Access to Seeds Index was mentioned:
“In 2016 the Netherlands launched the Access to Seeds Index. This Index measures and compares the efforts of globally leading seed companies to make quality seeds accessible for smallholder farmers around the world.”
The reports from all countries that are part of The Kingdom of The Netherlands – Aruba, Curaçao, The Netherlands, Saint Martin – will be presented at the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) which takes place 10-19 July in New York.
